I am a studio artist in Brattleboro, Vermont. I design and build hollow ceramic sculptural forms using organic shapes that speak to movement and transformation. My sculpture is heavily influenced by her previous work as a tenured research professor of media ecology.

MD CERAMICS & GOOD GLAZE

MD Ceramics builds sculpture, utilitarian work, and takes commissions for ceramic wares. GOOD Glaze consults with individual clients and local community pottery studios to mix, develop, and troubleshoot glazes. Future development includes a series of glaze chemistry courses that give certified students access to a maker space to make their own glazes.

Lead the glaze team in day-to-day maintenance of community studio glazes, design reformulations of glazes with new ingredients, troubleshoot and solve glaze flaws, develop new glazes. Run workshops and classes on glaze basics, hand building sculpture skills, and clay critique.

Conducted research in web historiography, digital sustainability, media infrastructure and materiality, and critical digital pedagogy. Taught graduate and undergraduate courses from introductory level to advanced level, in person, online, and hybrid. Developed curriculum, led promotion/tenure and educational assessment committees, and served on faculty- and shared-governance committees. Held leadership positions as Program Chair and Graduate Program Chair. Earned tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2016.
FACULTY RESEARCH FELLOW

Conducted research on the intersection of critical digital pedagogy, Ignatian pedagogy and online teaching and learning practices during a competitively selected 2.5 year funded research term. Produced research, lectures, and podcast episodes, and training sessions for faculty teaching mentorship.
EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT LEAD, SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION

Researched and produced a proposal for educational assessment in the School of Communication that is science-based, theoretically backed, multi-tiered, and rolled out in a phased manner to encourage a robust discussion of educational assessment among faculty and staff and students within the School. Chaired the Assessment Committee to manage the initial rollout of the assessment plan.
